Storyline of The Red Tent
Her name is Dinah. This is creative writing loosely happening in a historical setting but is not historical creative writing. As The Red Tent provides a reasonable representation of ancient life in the Middle East, it does not go after the Scriptural text and often seems to try toward rewrite the Scriptural account of Jacob's family, giving small if any value to Jacob trying to guide his family to follow and adoration only Enormous God and forsaking overseas idols. As it is comprehensible that Jacob's "wives" would discover it difficult to desert their cultural spiritual practices, seems to point to that is what they did following they had left Laban's household and traveled with Jacob. Sometimes, it seems the plot is trying to educate anti-God religious practices as women rebelling next to men's teaching about an Almighty.
