User Reviews Of  Robot Overlords:
The heading, Robot Overlords, alone by now indicates that this is the campiest film to exist in this invention, too dated that it would be an enjoyment for today's common filmgoers. It reverberations like one of those standard fake films that are classically featured in romcoms or teens films where it has a situation in a film theater, because actually the production could not pay for product placing an actual movie or mostly just depicting or satirizing what the mass decide to pay for their worth admissions. Robot Overlords do total up with that standard, it is mechanical about its own plot: an iniquity force, improbable heroes, a character who has something particular inside him which befalls the only hope to keep the day. It is a total cliché, except this is one of persons where people could shrug them off and see the attraction of this little fodder. As a B-film it may have one of those clichéd qualities, but there is an suitable amount of fun. There is not anything novel about it in the finish, but this is a movie that intentionally gives you the enjoyment to turn off your brain. Sideways of its title, the film seems completely committed to be this cheesy, but that does not let the pessimism get in the way. The story is totally easy, it never tries to say something political or deeper or something else. Dystopian outlook cinema tend to bring up something thought-provoking, but this movie just sticks to the typical saving-the- world principle. With for once, it feels refreshing, particularly for not ending by providing an overlong over-romantic drama or a romantic subplot. The personalitys are only on a expedition where they are often encountering robots, additional ridiculous ideas and little twists that do not deceive what it has setup. Or else, there is nothing really special about it, but there is a real momentum that creates it easy to watch. While the robots start fighting, it gets too noisy, the effects look high-quality enough for a B-film, bringing a sense of scale for these characteristically designed machines. However the shining moments are essentially when the heroes are finding latest discoveries in this world, it is essentially just embracing what this should be an exploratory ride. And just like any nonspecific action film, the idol is the good-looking white guy. There is also a girl and the comedian relief best friend. And there is a small kid, and this kid is forever curious, because why not? The simply attractive character side here is the bad character who is magnetized with the hero's mother, which brings an intriguing small extra conflict. The acting is B-film at best; Callan McAuliffe has the lot you would ask for a bland protagonist. As Ben Kingsley is delightful as the performance gradually hams it up the more the villain unmasks his true scenery. Robot Overlords strength be too lame for this era of an even more persuasive and edgier blockbusters. Films like this would effortlessly be groaned at and we can by now see why. With for some reason, the movie seems responsive to its own trashiness and in its place makes a simple fun out of it. Unlike many dumb B-films out there that does not accept its absurdity by glossing it above with gravity that makes no intelligence until it stops being watchable, this movie as a minimum has the delight over its preposterous scenery; the hero kids do impractical things, the villain sneers his plans, the other characters are pleasant for the sake of being nice and they are next to giant robots. But over, there is nothing shining about it, it not at all gave us anything important in the end, but it sure is wonderful seeing a film like Robot Overlords that is positive enough to be released in today's blockbuster movies.
